Description:

Mobango is a largest universal mobile community portal that allows mobile phone users to publish, and share mobile media contents with their friends through web and mobile devices. The users can upload any media contents like audio, video, ring tones, games, software etc. through web and they can convert to different formats of his mobile supports and download it directly through either mobile device or web.

The media contents of video and audio types are generally converted to FLV and mp3 for better streaming of media files. The portal also has a messaging facility with which the users can communicate among themselves. This also helps the administrator to communicate with the members. The administrator can broadcast a message to a huge number of members based on some criteria. For example, to users based on some geographical location. The administrator uses this functionality for promotional purposes. There is also ‘groups’ feature where a user can form groups of like minded members to share and communicate.

The site has localized contents (i18N) for Italy, India, Pakistan and for the rest. Also the application provides RSS feeds.

Role

1. Played important roles in Re-Architecture phases of mobango web and wap applications to increase performance of the application.
2. Re-organized the file storage structure and storage mechanism to perform faster file access and retrieval of large media contents.
3. Developed a media conversion engine with job scheduler to handle large number of file conversion requests.
4. Developed a Bulk Migration tool to export huge amount of media files from the unorganized file storage system to a properly organized new file storage system.
5. Involved in Database optimization, Mysql proxy setup, SQL tuning, caching, and front end performance tweaking.
6. Developed a core Bulk mailing engine to broadcast messaging of large user community.
7. Involved in Server Installations, Environment setup, Apache and Lighttpd web server maintenance, product release and code repository maintenance.

goClassi is a classifieds and Yellow pages portal, where registered partners / members can place their advertisements. The ads in this portal can be searchable by local and broad category wise by the end users. The users will keep notified with new ads as soon as a new ad placed in the site. Members have the ability to modify their account, place ads, modify ads, renew ads, and setup a seller store. All of these items can be set through the administration. The system provides enough information to the visitors about the products they want to buy on their areas. The system has many features including sms alert, mail alert, rss feed, ad rating, favorite ads etc.

The members of the community can create a personalized calendar to plan their social life, allowing them and their friends to stay informed of which entertainment events they plan on attending and offering them some special offers from participating Zipscene entertainment businesses, providing a private community to stay connected without concerns about privacy and spamming.

The visitors can buy and sell their products online. This project also contains web traffic monitoring; google ads, advertisement hit tracking and advanced search features.
